Our customer, on behalf of various local Scottish Councils, required a competent industrial rope access contractor to assist with various inspection and repair schemes at height covering a large portfolio of local leisure facilities.
Inspections extended to various structural steel members, bolted connections, weld detail, suspension wires and other fixings at height only able to be inspected by operatives able to safely work at height.
Following the completion of the initial inspections repair schemes to rectify various defects were implemented around convenient pool and facility closures.
HAKI Access Solutions typically provided a team of two or three IRATA trained rope access technicians to assist with the work at height elements of the inspection and repair schemes.
Simple inspections were able to be safely executed with two personnel with more complex operations requiring a larger team of advanced technicians to ensure high levels of supervision and rescue capability while working at height.
All method statements and risk assessments were submitted to the owners of the buildings for approval with full site specific work at height rescue plans to suit each task and location.
All works were completed on time and on budget with minimal disruption to local users of the facilities as much as is possible when essential works at height are required.
The use of industrial rope access teams to access areas at height removed the requirement to drain the pool prior to installing scaffolding and the associated costs and clean downs required when erecting scaffolding.
Our customer also avoided the hire costs along with the engineering costs associated with ground stability checks by using a rope access team for the works at height instead of MEWP.
